As usual, MSO had the responsibility to bring a little bit of Malaysia into the evening. This was done by MSO opening up a stall along the main university walkway, selling mouth watering Malaysian delicacies. As for the turnout it was rather excellent although the day was windy. Many came by to have a go at our own Malaysian satay, nasi lemak and nasi ayam (chicken rice). Some might say I am bragging but I am sure MSO was the fastest selling stall around. Thus I proud to say Malaysian delicacies are loved by both the international as well as the local students. MSO members did not miss out on the event as well, showing up to give MSO support on its first event organized by the new committee.

MSO did not go short on the performance as well. Performance was organized by our very own MSO committee as well as its members. The performance of songs and dances were from our very own local Malaysian artists. The first performance was a song sang by our very own MSO cultural officer Ahmad Najmuddin. The song was “Bunyi Gitar” which was originally sang by Tan Sri P. Ramlee. A duet too was done by our cultural officer and internal secretary Michelle which turned out to be the highlight of the night. The song sang by them was “Kau Ilham Ku” by Mambai. Lastly the dancing for both the songs was done by Lee Camei and Mei Fang the Welfare officer and Secretary of MSO.
Overall MSO had a successful evening by showing the students of UNSW the diversity of Malaysian culture through food as well as performance.
