Last Sunday, 15th September, we visited Fivedock for an experience many of us hadn't been through before. We met at Railway Square where we had to waited for the bus (we missed the one we'd planned to take, so I have to highlight this). Our usually Malaysian-styled socialising without even being introduced tooked it's course.
When we arrived at Fivedock, we ventured our way through the very-un-Malaysian area and finally found Zone Laser. 3 games were planned out and when called, we were briefed on the safety and boringness of laser tag. Each person was given equipment which had a nickname programmed into it.
We realised our first game involved a group of individuals we can only label as "the birthday party" - a dozen kids aged 8-10 joined our massive frenzy of laser tagging. Needless to say, we got served.
Our second game was a more enjoyable one as we were able to experience it amongst ourselves. A hard-pressing 20 minute battle between the Red team (which I can label as the Space team due to the players' intergalactic-themed nicknames) and the Blue team (nicknames based off various random characters ranging from 'King Arthur' to 'Minnie Mouse'). The outcome of the first game was red team winning with 41,050 points versus Blue team's staggering 36,250 points. The hero aliased 'Eclipse' was top scorer ranking 1 of 18!! Oh, and our dear Sports Officer, Amanda scored bottom points!
The third game followed with more tactics and planning preparation between the teams. We broke lots of rules crawling, jumping and rolling. The outcome of this game, was Blue Team winning with 40,450 points only 300 points ahead of Red Team with 40,150 points! Once again, among the two teams, 'Eclipse' was ranked at number 1 and Amanda a.k.a 'Lancelot' was ranked 21 of 21!
It was an exciting event, and I would like to thank our sports officers for organising this event and everyone who participated. It was mainly the competitiveness (also known as kiasu-ness) that caused the major success of this event.
Signing off, James a.k.a 'Eclipse' :D
(just realised Amanda was holding her sheet upside down)
